Orton Gillingham Approach (O.G.)

We Train Extraordinary People to Tutor Extraordinary Students.

The Orton Gillingham (O.G.) approach to reading and spelling is a systematic, multi-sensory, structured, sequential approach to learning and applying the rules and generalizations of the language.

The O.G. approach is an intensive, sequential language-based system that teaches the basics of word formatting before whole meanings. The method accommodates and utilizes the four learning channels through which people learn – visual, auditory and kinesthetic (muscle memory) and tactile – which reinforces learning in the brain. The O.G. method teaches to a student’s strengths while seeking to improve his or her weaknesses.

Orton Gillingham's success has been well documented for over 40 years. Originally developed for children and adults with learning difficulties, this approach has been used successfully in schools, homes and clinics worldwide.
